Related Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders
There are various conditions that have obsessive-compulsive qualities that are quite similar to OCD . These disorders are frequently described as Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders, many of which are treated primarily with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Likewise, certain anxiety disorders have features similar to OCD, and also respond well to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Below are some of the Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders and related anxiety disorders that we treat at the OCD Center of Los Angeles:

Research has found that the most effective treatments for OCD and these related conditions are specific types of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The primary CBT techniques used in treating these disorders are Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Imaginal Exposure, Interoceptive Exposure, Cognitive Restructuring, Meta-Cognitive Therapy, and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). In addition to individual therapy, the OCD Center of Los Angeles also offers five weekly, low-fee, therapy/support groups for people with OCD and these related conditions.
