The OCD Center of Los Angeles (OCDLA) is a private, outpatient treatment center dedicated to the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders and anxiety disorders. Our mission is to provide a highly specialized Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment program that is individually tailored to the specific needs of each client. Our program primarily focuses on weekly, outpatient, individual CBT sessions, but may also include intensive daily sessions, family sessions, home visits, couples sessions, phone sessions, online sessions, and/or one of our six structured CBT therapy/support groups. Individual sessions may include "in-vivo" field therapy, during we which our staff therapists help our clients face their fears in real-life situations.
As noted above, the OCD Center of Los Angeles offers six weekly therapy/support groups for adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related conditions. All of our groups are lead by our professional staff therapists, and use the same treatment protocol as our individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy program. All meetings are conveniently scheduled on weekday evenings or Saturdays, and are limited to eight (8) members. We also offer both telephone webcam-based online therapy to clients in California, and to international clients in many countries around the world. Both telephone and online therapy have been found by numerous research studies to be as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy, and have been legal in California since 1997. Telephone and online therapy are cost-effective options for clients who
have physical and/or psychological limitations that restrict their ability to come to our office, and for those in remote areas who cannot find specialized treatment close to their home. If you would like to learn more about out telephone and online therapy program, click here.
The OCD Center of Los Angeles was founded in 1999 by Tom Corboy, MFT, a psychotherapist licensed to practice in the State of California. All of our staff therapists have advanced degrees in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work, and all are either licensed or registered to practice in the State of California. We also maintain an archive of research materials related to OCD, OC Spectrum Disorders, and related anxiety disorders. Included in this collection are hundreds of research articles, as well as books, videotapes, DVDs, and issues of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation newsletter dating back to 1987.
