ABOUT OCDLA

The OCD Center of Los Angeles (OCDLA) is a private, outpatient treatment center dedicated to providing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and related Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders and anxiety disorders. Our mission is to provide a highly specialized treatment program that is individually tailored to the specific needs of each client. Our program primarily focuses on weekly, outpatient, individual CBT therapy sessions, but may also include intensive daily sessions, home visits, and/or family therapy. Additionally, we offer five low-fee, structured CBT treatment/support groups each week for individuals with OCD and related conditions. These groups are lead by our staff therapists, and use the same treatment protocol as our individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy program. For more information on our low-fee group therapy program for OCD and related conditions, click here.

The OCD Center of Los Angeles also maintains an archive of research materials related to OCD, OC Spectrum Disorders, and related anxiety disorders. Included in this collection are issues of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation newsletter dating back to 1987, books, research articles, and videotapes. Clients of the center may use these resources anytime free of charge.

The OCD Center of Los Angeles was founded by Tom Corboy, MFT, a psychotherapist licensed by the State of California. He received his master's degree from the Department of Counseling Psychology at USC in 1993, where his graduate thesis was a study comparing various treatments of OCD. Since then, much of his training and clinical experience has been focused on the treatment of OCD, OC Spectrum Disorders, and related anxiety disorders. In addition to his work with individuals, he has been leading a weekly therapy/support group for individuals with OCD since 1997. He is a member of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation (OCF), the Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders Association (OCSDA), the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA), the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and the Group Psychotherapy Association of Southern California (GPASC). Tom can be contacted at (310) 335-5443, or via email at director@ocdla.com.

Stacey Kuhl, MSSA, received her Master's Degree in Social Administration from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Before joining the OCD Center of Los Angeles, she worked as a social worker at USC University Hospital, Oakview Behavioral Health Center, the Mandel Adoption Project, and Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. Her clinical experience includes providing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for individuals and groups with a wide range of disorders, including OCD, Phobias, Hypochondriasis, and Panic Disorder. Stacey can be contacted at (310) 335-1341, or via email at stacey@ocdla.com.

Maria Cervantes, MSW, received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Smith College in Northhampton, MA. She is a bilingual/bicultural Spanish-speaking therapist with a special focus on treating children, adolescents and adults with OCD and related anxiety disorders. Prior to joining OCDLA, Maria worked at UCLA conducting structured clinical interviews and administering psychiatric rating scales in their OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, and Early-Onset Schizophrenia research programs. She currently co-facilitates a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills group, and provides treatment and case management services at the Edelman Westside Mental Health Center.
